Honeymoon download; Raleigh and Richmond this weekend.

The fine gents over at EarFarm are currently offering a limited download of Honeymoon! Get it while the getting is good! Do take a look around the rest of the site--from live reviews to weekly features and the occasional mp3 buffet, these guys are generating some of the best music coverage around.

We also did a fun little interview with Karen Mann over on New Raleigh, which you can check that out here.

We wanted to remind everyone one last time about our show on Friday at the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh. Thank you very much to everyone who has already ordered tickets in advance--for those that haven't done so, you still can save a few $ off the door price by purchasing here.

Don't forget that we will be playing at the Plaza Bowl in Richmond, VA on Saturday night. Things get started at 8 bells!

One more thing--in a sudden change of plans, Stuart Robinson will in fact be playing with us on Friday. This will likely be his last performance in North Carolina with the band, as he boldly soldiers off into academia beginning this summer. Our good pal Dylan Thurston (Physics of Meaning / Leming Maloy / Felix Obelix) will also be lending a hand. I apologize for any confusion with our lineup--we are trying to limit Daniel's playing (on account of his hands). Thank you so much for the support and hope to see you soon!

New Songs and Video Posted!!

This just in, we've added a new song from our forthcoming record onto our myspace page. Please do have a listen!

Please also have a look this here video, which takes an inside look at the making of our new record, Tarpits and Canyonlands. It was shot over a few days at Baucom Road Studios back in early February, and put together by the folks at Ramseur Records. (Check out their other videos here).

We also wanted to encourage everyone to save a few dollars and purchase tickets for the Lincoln Theatre show in advance, by clicking here. The date is April 10 and we'll be performing some never-before heard material from our new record (out 7/7/09). We are fired up for this show and would be honored to have you and your friends--it is an all ages event, so grandmothers are okay too.

One more thing--the photo contest for spreading the word about the show on April 10 is still open.  Simply submit a photo of yourself hanging up a poster or otherwise spreading the word about the show to Stephanie, and you could win tickets to the show plus dinner and cookies in Durham with the band. The deadline to submit an entry is April 8th, so hurry! More details on that are here

See you soon!

New Record 7.7.09, Ticket Giveaway Contest for April 10th!

Howdy friends,

Bryan, Daniel and I have been off learning new things, seeing new places, and spending time with family and friends during a little break from the road. Our winter break is fast coming to an end and now we've got all kinds of exciting news to share with you. I tried to write a nice paragraph summing all of it up, but decided that a list was much more efficient. Efficiency is important, so here we go:

1)We're very excited to announce that our new record, Tarpits and Canyonlands, will be released by Ramseur Records on 7.7.09.

2)We've given our MySpace and website a face-lift. Check them out: www.myspace.com/bombadil and www.bombadilmusic.com

3)The website and MySpace include some of the art that the friendly folks over at Idiots' Books made for Tarpits.

4)Our friend Melissa Madison Fuller took some photos while we recorded that are also on the new website and MySpace.

5)Our friend Emily Kalwaitis (http://www.emilykalwaitis.com/) painted some fabulous portraits of us that are also up on the new website.

6)Stephanie at Ramseur Records is putting the finishing touches on a documentary about our new record. We're hoping to be able to share that with you in the next week or two.

7)I am constantly impressed that such creative, talented people have agreed to help us with our various needs and endeavors.

8)Duke University's Campus Concert Series is giving away 20 free tickets to our show at the Lincoln Theater. They'll go to the first people that come to the UNC/Duke Battle of the Bands at the Duke Coffeehouse, this Saturday at 7 pm. The event is free and all ages.More information here: http://www.duke.edu/web/CCS/BOTB.html.

9)New tour dates are being added frequently, so check back to see if we're coming to your neck of the woods.

10)Last, but not least - we're having a contest! We are inviting our fans to put up posters, call radio stations, alert the press and tell friends about our upcoming show on April 10th at the Lincoln Theater (with Lost in the Trees and Benji Hughes). In return for the most creative picture of you spreading the word sent here (to Stephanie), we will offer the grand prize of two tickets to the show + dinner cooked by Bombadil at the Bombi house in Durham + cookies to go + a signed poster!! Can you beat that? What we really need help with the most is putting up posters, so please send an email to Stephanie with your mailing address and she will send you some to put up. Remember, any photo of you spreading the word counts as an entry -- pictures of you hanging posters, a creative place that you hung a poster, you shmoozing a local DJ, message about the show scrolled in sidewalk chalk, etc. The more creative, the better!

Hope to see everyone at the Lincoln Theater or somewhere out there! Happy St. Patty's Day!

Cheers,
James
